Medical Librarian | Adjunct Instructor
Rachel Wedeward, MLIS, AHIP is Research Project Manager for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) in Chicago, IL. A professional research librarian, Wedeward has previously worked at the American Hospital Association (AHA) as a research information specialist and at the American Library Association (ALA) as a research coordinator. Wedeward also teaches at the University of Chicago Professional Education as an Adjunct Instructor in the Medical Writing and Editing Program. In her current and previous roles, her primary responsibilities have been to conduct healthcare research that has resulted in systematic reviews, clinical practice guidelines, and policy briefs that have shaped health care and demonstrated authoritative information to patients, clinicians, and consumers. She has also taught end users to use healthcare technology databases to create authoritative and effective search strategies. She received her BA in anthropology, politics, and government from Ripon College in 2014 and a Master's in Library and Information Science (MLIS) in library and information science from Dominican University in 2016. Wedeward is also a member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals through the Medical Library Association (MLA).
